Vicuna Area Projects
The Vicuña project occurs in the relatively unexplored gap between the two major gold belts along the Chile/Argentina border - the Maricunga Gold Belt to the north and the El Indio Gold Belt to the south. These belts host many past and present gold producers and the Pascua gold project being developed by Barrick Gold. Two nearby deposits, Caserones and El Morro, have been the target of takeovers in recent years.

Cluster Of Multiple Porphyry Targets
The Vicuña Area properties host many targets (some having been significantly drilled). The most successful exploration has occurred at Josemaria, Filo del Sol and Los Helados. This schematic relates the porphyry copper-gold mineralization to the calc-alkalic intrusives (pale yellow). In the case of Filo del Sol, the diatreme that hosts the high sulphidation gold target results from a porphyry intrusion at depth with the additional potential for porphyry related mineralization.
